About Us

Kian Sadr
Rower, Environmentalist, Founder and President of Solve Water

As a 10th grader who rows every day on the Long Island Sound, I see the impact of pollution up close. The Sound is more than just water. It’s a living ecosystem, home to hundreds of species of fish, birds, and wildlife. It’s also where people like me come to learn, row, relax, and connect with nature.

Every time I’m on the water, I notice plastic bottles, bags, and all kinds of trash drifting by my boat. Sometimes it’s just one or two pieces. Other days, it’s everywhere. Most people don’t realize that thousands of pounds of garbage end up in the Long Island Sound every year, threatening the animals and people who depend on it.

The pollution doesn’t just hurt wildlife. It affects the water we drink, seafood we eat, beaches where we swim, and jobs that rely on a healthy coastline.

I started SolveWater because I believe we all have a part to play. Whether you pick up a single bottle on your walk or join a bigger cleanup, every action counts. Together, we can protect the Long Island Sound and make a real difference–one piece of trash at a time.
